Is Kash Patel Giving Taxpayers The Middle Finger?

Kash Patel has been making news, but it's not because of his stellar job performance. From the very start of his tenure as FBI Director, he has come under fire for not showing up for work, getting into squabbles with other administration officials, and prematurely announcing that subjects of investigations were "in custody."

More recently it's been revealed that Patel has been using his FBI jet to take his girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, on dates as well as for personal getaways.

Last week, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee launched an investigation in Patel's personal use of the $60 million FBI aircraft, the cost of which is being covered by taxpayers.

Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the panel, wrote to Patel, asking “Why should American taxpayers be footing the bill for private jets every time you decide to hang out with your golf buddies, see your girlfriend, or go to your ‘boondoggle’ escape?

MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), citing sources close to the president, published a report stating Trump was considering firing Patel over the negative press. White House sources immediately denied the report, after which Trump publicly stated that he thinks Patel is doing a great job.

When asked about the issue in a Fox News interview, Patel defended the use of the planes by stating he's allowed to have a personal life, completely ignoring the issue of whether taxpayers should be on the hook for it.

    Bending the Rules

In Palmistry, the condition of the middle finger reveals whether one is handling resources with integrity. Known as Saturn, it's associated with work, money and resources, discipline, accountability, and self-worth. When I look at someone's middle finger I'm looking at their attitude towards responsibility and duty.

FBI Director Kash Patel with Hand Up

We can see in this photo of Kash Patel with his right hand raised in the air, the tip of his middle finger is bent to one side. When the upper phalange of Saturn is bent or twisted, it can indicate compulsive as well as irresponsible behavior. It can also show an inability to handle the duties and responsibilities of one's job.

Patel's finger leans towards his ring finger. Known as Apollo, the ring finger is the finger of personal expression, play, and luxury. The bending of the middle finger over the ring finger is something I see all too often. At its core it reveals a conflict between work and play.

    The Finger Of Impudence

Mentioned in the writings of Socrates, the gesture of raising of the middle finger is thought to have originated with the ancient Greeks. The Romans adopted it and dubbed the middle finger “Digitus Impudicus” meaning Finger of Ill Repute or Finger of Impudence.

The lack of discipline shown by Patel's bent upper Saturn and a strong need for applause, indicated by the low set of his ring finger, is not a healthy combination. The weight of his responsibilities as FBI Director are getting in the way of a deep-seated desire to show off. And his unbridled spending on luxurious vacations and mishandling of public funds is fueled by a lack of impulse control.

Whether intentional or driven by a deeply rooted complex, Patel is indeed giving American taxpayers the middle finger.
